GRADUATE PROGRAM

The Department of Geological Sciences offers M.S. and Ph.D. programs requiring a research thesis with concentrations in geophysics, igneous and metamorphic petrology, isotope geology, aqueous geochemistry, sedimentology, tectonics, and vertebrate paleontology, or a combination of these areas. In addition the Department offers an M.S. in applied geophysics, which is a program that does not require a thesis. Students interested in careers in the environmental field are encouraged to consider programs in some combination of aqueous geochemistry, isotope geology, or sedimentology.
