19 July 2007 --- AUDIO! Dallas Texas "Parking Lot" ---
In a darkened baseball field behind Memorial Stadium in Mesquite, a crowd of about 200 Drum Corps fans gathered to hear the Phantom Regiment Drumline warm up for that
evening's performance. Nineteen players total, 9 snares, 5 basses, and 5 tenors, playing together like one single, enormous percussionist, tasty and ferocious. This was just three days before being judged the world's number one drumline
at the Drum Corps International 2007 Regional Championships in San Antonio.
I missed the first part of the warmup, which is too bad. They begin with simple straight unison eights, just like your 5th grade band instructor had you do. And they make that solid and locked and then gradually become more complex, until they have worked up to the level where
they are playing Paul Rennick's amazing arrangements.
It's a wonderful thing to experience. Which is why all those people were there. These recordings start part way through that warmup process.

Phantom Regiment 2007 Dallas Parking Lot 2 (24M audio wav file)
These next three are from the show, really fine arranging and outstanding playing. Note that the arrangements (and the drumming) have changed between these performances in July in Dallas and the final performances in August in Pasadena.
